Hi dear friend,

With endless distractions wanting our attention, it's easy to find ourselves struggling to accomplish what we need done, be it work or studying. Not a problem anymore, since there's a simple and powerful technique that can truly help the way you work.

Have you ever heard of the Pomodoro Technique? It's a great time management technique developed by Francesco Cirillo back in the late 1980s. Cirillo named it after the Italian word for "tomato" (pomodoro), because he used a tomato-shaped kitchen timer to keep track of time when he was at university.

I've toyed with it here and there, mostly when I remember and especially when I need extra focus for something that absolutely must get done. It works like a charm. An amazing time management tool which is super easy to use.

Here's how it works:

Step 1: Grab your favourite timer, your phone, an old-school kitchen timer, or a fancy app. Set it for 25 minutes. That's right, just 25 minutes.

Step 2: Dive into your task with all guns blazing. No distractions allowed during this time. It's just you, your work, and the ticking clock. Get your inner productivity going and get stuff done!

Step 3: When the timer rings, take a short break for 5 minutes. Use this time to stretch, grab a drink, or just relax for a moment. Allow your mind to rest and recharge before diving back into the next Pomodoro.

Step 4: Rinse and repeat! Hit that timer again for another round of focused work. After completing 4 Pomodoro’s, take a longer break of 15-30 minutes to rest and rejuvenate.

You've earned it!

It’s important to actually stick to these times. I find it hard to stop sometimes when I’m in a flow, it’s easy to carry on because I’m inspired. But if I follow the protocol of Pomodoro, and stop when the alarm rings, I get so much more done in a shorter time.
