Life is Brutiful
A Dance through the Beautiful and Brutal
Hi dear friend.
In our ever evolving world, life's dualities becomes even more pronounced. Life truly is "brutiful," and the worldwide arena often reflects this complex performance.
Our world today is a mix of beauty and brutality on a grand scale. On one hand, we're immersed in the wonders of amazing creativity, the beauty of nature, and the potential for solutions and diverse cultures. We can witness extraordinary acts of kindness and humanity, inspiring us with hope and a sense of unity.
Yet, there's no denying the brutal side. The headlines scream about conflicts, environmental crises, wars and social injustices. It can be heart wrenching to see the suffering, to watch nature's delicate balance being disturbed and to feel the weight of the world's problems on our shoulders.
In such a world, it's easy to feel like your heart is a delicate balloon at risk of bursting. The weight of global issues is overwhelming, and it can be a struggle to find the beauty in it all. The brutality of the world can cast a long shadow on even the sunniest of days.
But here's the twist, it's precisely in these times that our hearts grow stronger. Like a muscle being tested, we develop resilience, compassion, and a deep appreciation for the little moments which can offer us peace of mind. When the world feels heavy, the kindness of a stranger, a breathtaking sunset, or a hug from a friend become powerful moments.
To walk in this "brutiful" world, we need to balance our understanding of its complexities with a dash of hope. Instead of being overwhelmed, we can use the beauty of life as a lifeline, celebrate the small victories and find comfort in the company of like-minded individuals.
Even in the midst of the world's turmoil, we can be agents of change, taking small steps to make it a better place.
My beloved spiritual teacher, Nalanie Harilela Chellaram, has consistently reminded me that we have the power to select our own illusions. This has become a daily practice for me. There are days when this task is more challenging than others. My heart can weigh heavy with the brutality of the world and the tsunami of distressing news, almost leading to a loss of hope in humanity. But I'm grateful for the spiritual tools and strength that allow me to make a new choice. Nowadays, that choice comes quickly.
I'm fully aware of the need to maintain a high level of energy and frequency, both for my own well-being and to positively impact the world. Therefore, like everyone else, I try to do my best. For me, this entails wholeheartedly engaging in the practice of gratitude.
We can and will continue dancing through this wonderful, brutiful journey. So welcome the world's contradictions and complexity, all the while discovering the profound beauty that is all in us and around us. Recognize the power of our hearts to endure, to heal, and to create ripples of change in a turbulent sea. It's in the rhythm of life that we find our strength, and our path to faith and hope in this brutiful world.
Until next week. Stay grateful and curious.
Much love,
Kim

Not everything is a choice. Some events can happen and change your life forever that are not our choice to cause happen nor to prevent happening or existing, yet were still envolved without consent reason or choice. Nature is not selective and extremely brutal at times.
it's the razor's edge! if you are small enough the razor's edge can seem like a mountain ridge! If you are large enough the razor's edge can open you up, literally! For me, it's all in my perception of what I choose to focus on. The world news is there to take our awareness away from the simple beauties of life. I would rather focus on the simplicities of everyday life like that first sip of hot coffee in the morning or the sun coming up over the mountain on a crisp Vermont morning or coming home after a rewarding day of work helping one of my customers with a repair problem they have in their home. I can go on but I think you get the picture. Everything is a choice! Thanks for sharing........
