Where is your True North if the world goes South?
Hi dear friend,
When life takes a nosedive and everything seems to be spiralling downward, finding your True North becomes pretty important. I've had my fair share of those moments when it felt like I was just wandering around, shooting aimlessly and hitting nothing but air. It's in those times that self-awareness becomes my guiding star.
That being said, it's clear that true self-awareness is like stumbling on a rare and precious find. It's tough to objectively evaluate ourselves without getting lost in the maze of our thoughts and emotions. Yet, when you do find your True North, it's like clearing away all the clutter in your mind and seeing things with clarity.
It's about understanding what truly makes you tick as a person and aligning your actions with those values. Some days it's a breeze, other days, well, let's just say it's a bit more of a challenge.
So, how do you find your True North in the commotion? I love questions and by asking yourself the right ones like;
When was the last time you felt pure joy?
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
What thoughts distract you when you’re trying to go to sleep?
If you could only use five words, how would you describe yourself?
What does success look like to you?
But no need to rush the process. Finding your True North takes time, and it's okay to be kind to yourself along the way. Self-compassion is key. And let's not forget, it’s not about a fast solution, but rather starting a continuous adventure of self-exploration.
So, armed with questions and a heart full of curiosity, dive in and explore:
What makes you come alive?
What are you passionate about?
What legacy do you want to leave behind?
What are you grateful for?
For me, my True North is something like this:
The feeling you have when you realise
what is important to you.
It's finding a place where you
understand your value and you
live your life accordingly.
It's when you have the
sense of whom you are
and finding what it is that enables you to live a life you are passionate about....
Truly... Madly... Deeply...
Life is short and you deserve to have the vitality, time, and fulfilment of your dreams. It’s a wild ride, so why not steer towards your True North and make every moment count?
Until next week, stay grateful and curious.
Much love,
Kim

Thanks, Kim!! At age 81 I would say I just like to stay in a learning mode! After having spent 70 years of my life within a religious mindset it was SO freeing to be able to Question Everything!! To be able to think for oneself is True Liberty & True North!! Hugs to you & Ole!! Thanks for all you both have done towards freeing Humanity!!
