Are you a Rebel?
In a world where conformity typically holds dominion, there's an undeniable freshness that accompanies embracing one's rebellious spirit. But hold on a second!
Hi dear friend, so are you a rebel?
According to the dictionary a rebel is a person who does not like rules or authority, and shows this by behaving differently from most people in society.
I’m not sure I’m behaving differently than others, maybe I am. But I’m not one who follows the main stream narrative, that’s for sure.
Since I was in my teens I started questioning. Both out load, but mostly in my mind.
In a world where conformity typically holds dominion, there's an undeniable freshness that accompanies embracing one's rebellious spirit. But hold on a second! I’m not talking about the movie kind of rebel who wears leather jackets, rides motorcycles, and breaks all the rules with reckless abandon. No, I’m referring to a different breed of rebel—the questioning rebel, the one who challenges the status quo with curiosity and a desire for deeper understanding and change. So, if you've ever found yourself questioning the norm and itching to explore new possibilities, read on as I would like to celebrate the power of being a rebel.
Question Everything
Picture this: you're sitting in a lecture hall, listening intently to a professor's words. Suddenly, a thought pops into your head, a nagging doubt that challenges the very foundation of your beliefs. Do not dismiss it! Embrace it.
The essence, I believe, of being a rebel lies in asking why? What for? And how? When others simply accept things at face value.
Stepping off the beaten path can be both thrilling and enlightening. As a rebel with a curious mind, you possess the unique ability to wander into uncharted territories. Tap into the opportunity to venture beyond your comfort zone, whether it's through reading books from diverse authors, engaging in discussions with people of different backgrounds, or exploring new cultures. You never know what hidden gems of wisdom and inspiration you might stumble upon.
For me it’s easy to fall into the trap of unquestioningly clinging to my own beliefs. However, being a rebel requires a willingness to challenge even our most cherished convictions. I try to engage in healthy debates and open dialogues with others who hold opposing views. This doesn't mean compromising my values, but rather seeking to understand different perspectives and expanding my own understanding of the world. Who knows, I might discover a middle ground or develop a more nuanced stance on the issues that matter most to me. I also love throwing out questions, and let that be a seed in someone’s mind to figure out.
Rebels have historically been at the forefront of social progress and positive change. Think of the great thinkers, innovators, and visionaries who have questioned the status quo to pave the way for a better future. By embodying the spirit of a rebel, you too can inspire change in your own unique way. By sharing your insights, challenge outdated systems, and work towards making a positive impact in your community. Remember, a single spark of rebellion has the power to ignite a revolution.
Embrace Joyful Disobedience
Being a rebel doesn't have to be all serious and intense. Actually, it's the spirited and light-hearted rebels who joyously shower the world with cheerfulness, innovation, and a touch of buoyancy. So, don't hesitate to infuse your rebellion with a dose of playfulness. Share your quirks, indulge in harmless mischief, and find delight in bending the rules a little. Your rebellion can be a breath of fresh air in a world that sometimes takes itself too seriously.
A rebel doesn't necessarily mean tearing down institutions or challenging authority at every turn. It can simply mean adopting your inner curiosity and questioning the world around you. You become an agent of positive change, inspiring others to challenge the status quo and embrace the joy of questioning.
So, go forth, brave rebel, and let your inquisitive spirit light the way to a brighter and more compassionate future.
Until next week dear friend. Stay curious and grateful.
Light and joy,
Kim

I would say the last few years have shown how the majority of The Masses do NOT question Authority.
How did the Human Race become so docile & "conditioned"??? I know that in my schooling & my childhood religion I was never taught Critical Thinking....I didn't start questioning anything until age 70 & then only because my life had been ruined by the Religious Belief System I had been a part of!! It has taken me 8 years, but I can say from experience that Belief Systems are just THAT.....something we accept as being true without questioning the roots it comes from. Why else would we humans, who do have empathy for other human beings, be drawn into k*lling each other over Belief Systems??? I would say we need all the Rebels we can get!! Sometimes it just takes one person asking a question in a Social Circle which can influence others into thinking for themselves!! C'mon Rebels!!!! ;-)
I've been locked up for being a rebel. I intensely detest all kinds of infringement on indiviual liberties. I find the balance between inner peace and outer commitment real hard. I sometimes even rebelled against what was good for me, for all. This is my shame. Today I'm older and slightly more balanced.
