Happy Birthday Bali lady!! Many more to come!! If someone told me when I was in my forties that after 70 would be one of the 'coolest' times of my life, I would have never believed it! Well here I am at 73 and yes, it is a very 'cool' time! Good health, good movement, still working doing what I enjoy which is building and remodeling. I am extremely grateful and blessed. I'm not lucky, I just know the rules of the game better than most people my age!! Rule #1. No complaining! Rule #2, Be grateful.... It's the driving force! Rule #3, Don't talk about your maladies! No one cares, except to complain! Rule #4 Reread Rules 1,2,3 over and over!!
My partner and I are celebrating a birthday this weekend - his not mine. He's 56, but as willowy as ever. For us it is a good excuse to spend some time in one of his favourite places. and mine, a lovely town further up the coast.
Reading the experiences of others and the research of others has been the catalyst, and an essential part of my journey towards truth. This journey is a compensation for the less good parts of getting older. Your honest account of mid-life in this beautiful but strange world of ours is part of that.
